Abstract Submission Guidelines
MICROCON 2024 cordially invites post-graduate students, faculties, researchers, and practitioners to submit their abstracts for oral and poster presentations showcasing their original research and breakthrough ideas in the field of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Instructions for Abstract Submission for Free Oral/ Poster Presentations
- Abstract submission deadline: Last date for Abstract Submission is 7th October 2024. NO abstracts will be accepted after this date.
- It is MANDATORY for presenting author to be registered for MICROCON 2024 and have a valid IAMM membership.
- The abstracts must not have been published at any conference proceedings/ journal before.
- The presenting author should be the first author.
- All abstract submissions to be made online in the link provided at the end of the page.
- You need to mention your preference of Oral/ Poster presentation and you will receive an e-mail confirmation after submission.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by the MICROCON 2024 scientific committee & the committee holds the right to accept/reject or to consider an abstract either for oral or poster presentation. The decision of the MICROCON 2024 Scientific committee shall be final.
- The mode of presentation whether Oral or Poster will be notified by 18th October 2024.
- Certificates will be given ONLY to the Presenting Author. No
Guide to Abstract Submission
- Your abstract should be a PDF document, exceeding not more than 5 mb of file size and should be well structured (No graphics, images or tables to be used). See Abstract template provided for details.
- You need to submit the name, institutional affiliation & contact information of the presenting as well as the co-authors.
- Please ensure the email address & mobile number of the presenting author is accurate, as this will be the sole method of communication regarding acceptance.
- Abstracts once submitted cannot be edited.
- Abstract Guide:
a. Word Limit: 300 words for the abstract body (excluding the title)
b. Title: Must be written in CAPITAL & BOLD letters. Use font – Calibri, Font Size - 14.
c. Abstract body: Use font – Calibri, Font Size – 12.
i. Introduction: Indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis
that was tested or/and a description of the problem being analyzed or evaluated.
ii. Material & Methods: Describe the study period, setting and location, study design,
study population, data collection and methods of analysis used.
iii. Results: Present as clearly and in as much detail as possible the findings and/or
outcomes of the study. Please summarize any specific results.
iv. Conclusion: Explain the significance of your findings and/or outcomes of the
study for prevention, treatment, care and/or support, and future implications of
the results.

- Dr. SR Sengupta- Dr. AM Saoji Memorial Prize for the Best Paper in Immunology
- Dr. SS Kelkar Memorial Prize for the Best Poster (any subject in Medical Microbiology)
- IAMM silver Jubilee Prize for Best Paper in Parasitology

Guidelines for Nomination Submission for IAMM Award and Prize Categories
- Last date of receipt of all nominations 31st August 2024.
- Nominations MUST also be sent as a soft copy to Secretary IAMM by email on secretary.iamm@gmail.com and also submitted to the organizing secretary of MICROCON-2024 (using the link below).

- Prof AN Chakrabarthy memorial Prize for the best published paper in Mycobacteriology 2024 - Upload the full published paper during the preceding year i.e. 2023-24, in any National/ International journal using the link below.
- Dr KB Sharma Memorial Junior Best paper award 2024 - Upload the full paper complete with tables, figures, etc. (prepared according to the format of the IJMM) using the link below.
a. The contestant should be a member of IAMM.
b. Age of the contestant should be less than 35 years of age as on Aug 31, 2024
(Please attach the certificate showing the proof of age should be attached).
c. The presenting author MUST be the principle author of the paper.
d. The same paper should NOT have received any other award or be published in
any other award or be published in any journal and should be so certified, as a
signed declaration by the contestant.
Guidelines for Nomination Submission for IAMM Prize Categories
1. Any IAMM member is eligible to contest for these prizes.
2. Abstracts must be submitted in the prescribed format.
3. Submitting participant must have a valid IAMM membership number.
4. It is MANDATORY to send the soft copy of the Paper to IAMM Secretary’s office at secretary.iamm@gmail.com.
5. Also, submit the abstract to the organizing committee MICROCON-2024 using the link below.
